Julia Stiles to produce and star in Sylvia Plath’s depression classic The Bell Jar

Stiles has spent two years securing the rights to produce and star in a film adaptation of Sylvia Plath’s moody classic The Bell Jar.  Stiles will play depressed lead character Esther Greenwood. The famous novel is being adapted by Tristine Skyler. Shooting is set to begin in early 2008. A director has not been announced as of yet.
